And I'm back

Whew – who knew Argentina was so big and had so much to offer!

In the last month I was in:

  • Colonia – the only UNESCO site in Uruguay, and very cute settler town on the beach
  • Peninsula Valdes – there to see whales and elephant seals (the south-right whales literally come upto your boat and also are seen playing near the beaches)
  • Iguazu Falls – absolutely amazing waterfall. My friend from Niagara Falls was there with us and he had to note that Niagara has absolutely nothing on Iguazu
  • Mendoza – a desert on the footprints of the Andes and wine country for Argentina. I had one of the best gourmet meals of my life here (and a ton of fun on the mountains)
  • Ushuaia – the southernmost city in the world. I should note that really its latitude distance from the equator is equivalent to Dublin in the north. But we did see islands teaming with sea lions and some gorgeous scenery.
  • El Calafate – right next to the P Moreno Glacier. Until you’ve seen a glacier in person – you have no clue what you are missing. I’ve never seen such a beautiful dawn in my life.
  • Buenos Aires of course – great city with great people. I think in a few years I might come down here and actually spend a few years and get my Spanish and Tango right :)

And so my Argentinean summer is coming to a close. In 8 days I head back to the US, and I believe we’ve found our apartment in NYC, starting September 1.

Of course work has been rolling along, but alas none of what we are working on will be ready for public consumption soon. Or maybe … we shall see

Whirlwind trip – sounds like a great time. Just you know Brett Farve is now a New York Jet.

Yep yep read about it last night – but I’m an NBA fan so waiting to see what Donnie does with the Knicks (and very interested in the Brooklyn/Jay-Z/LeBron angle too).

Favorite team will always be Raptors though – very interested in how they play out with Jermaine now :)

Welcome back Ahmed (a belated welcome due to bad feed reader management). Wow, it looks like you made the most of your trip! I’ve yet to visit Niagara Falls but it looks like Iguazu has already spoiled it for me.

:)
